Printer Trento – High quality standards in book production

For decades now, Printer Trento in the northern Italian city of the same name has been one of the largest and most cutting-edge book producers in Central Europe. Its five Rapida large-format presses from Koenig & Bauer produce 15 million books every year. Under the agreement, the two companies will engage in close collaboration alongside brands, to further explore the opportunities of biobased and renewable packaging for the cosmetic and beauty industry.

Drewsen Spezialpapiere commissions its first photovoltaic plant

After Drewsen Spezialpapiere succeeded in taking the first step towards regenerative energy supply with the purchase of three wind turbines in July of this year, the investment in a 1.4 megawatt peak photovoltaic plant is now the next step. In mid-December 2022, Drewsen commissioned its first free-standing plant on a former brownfield site in the immediate vicinity of the factory. Within 2 months, 3,590 solar modules were installed over an area of 16,000 m2. With an expected electricity production of almost 1,300,000 kWh per year, they cover about one eighth of the external electricity demand in a renewable and climate-friendly way. The investment sum for this plant amounts to €1 million.

Mondi has expanded its paper bag footprint in Morocco

Mondi has started production at its €16 million greenfield plant in Morocco, which can produce 100 million paper bags each year. This brings Mondi’s total capacity in West Africa to over 500 million bags annually, helping to meet the growing customer demand for paper bags in the region. This plant is Mondi’s fourth site in West Africa (in addition to two plants in Morocco and one in Ivory Coast).

Mondi launches Color Copy in US letter size

Mondi launches Color Copy original customized for the North American market. The digital color printing paper was specifically adapted for Canadian merchant Multiplex Solutions. “We are really excited to bring the Color Copy brand to North America!” says Jeffrey Lovely, President at Multiplex Solutions.
